If you make that drive, Lorraine's is the perfect place to stop. Reasonably priced, she was welcoming and we felt like fast friends. Took several loaves of banana bread for the road and loved all the varieties. If I ever make it back to Maui, I'll make that drive again for sure! Ask for her advice on syrups, she didn't steer anyone wrong! I should point out that her ice is lighter and flakier than any I had anywhere else - I thought the unique texture made it even better.

Best shaved ice, visit and location on the island! We had some friends who recommended Lorraine’s for shaved ice. We didn’t even know where it was and just came up on it by accident! When we saw the sign we knew we had to stop. Lorraine is a wonderful lady and a great hostess. After she made our shaved ice, she invited us out to her back yard to sit and enjoy it. We had a wonderful visit listening to her talk about her fruit trees and her life there. She also had fresh banana bread that was still warm out of the oven which we had to get also. Thanks Lorraine!

Very friendly experience. We picked up two types of banana nut bread and some cold drinks. Awesome location thats surrounded by banana, coconut, guava trees and hot chili peppers. Very cool place to stop while driving through the tight canyon road.

After a long day at the beach, we took a scenic drive up the northwest Maui’s coast and stopped here for shaved ice. As many reviewers have mentioned, Lorraine made this place a welcoming stop for visitors. She found out several members of our group have sunburnt from the beach outing. She cut some Aloe Vera leaves from her garden and told us to rub it on the sunburn area. We had a great time talking to her, including the proper pronunciation of Hawaii’s State fish, Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa.

We had the best time there. Lorraine is fun and great with the kids! We had a shaved ice and got the last banana bread- both were amazing! Her property is so beautiful and she took the time to show us different plants and fruit trees. When you go ask her to show you the free entertainment plant! Worth the crazy drive to get there!
